Bidders are hereby notified that this addendum shall be made a part of the above-named proposal and contract
documents.
The following is issued to modify, and/or clarify the proposal and contract documents. These items shall have the same
force and effect as the original bid and contract documents, and bids to be submitted on the specified date shall conform
with the additions, deletions and revisions as listed herein.
ITEM # 1 QUESTIONS/ANSWERS
Q1: Please clarify the contractor’s responsibility for providing archaeological services during excavation. Is
the contractor only required to have one (1) archaeologist onsite during excavation activities? Also, is the
contractor responsible for providing a Technical Memorandum detailing the monitoring results, including an
updated FMSF form? If significant archaeological deposits, human remains, or a significant site are
encountered, will the contractor also be responsible for the additional analysis and write-up, or will the County
assume responsibility for those services? Also, to be clear, will there be a change order if an archaeological
site is discovered for making up of lost time due to the site delay?
A1: Only one (1) archaeologist would be required on site during excavation. Any additional services or procedures
required due to the unearthing of remains/artifacts would be the responsibility of the archaeologist. Any additional fees
associated with this would be the responsibility of the County. If work is significantly delayed or stopped entirely, change
orders may be used to add additional time to the contract if needed. The requirements as identified in the plans per
DOHR are below:
BID NO. 20260211, ADDENDUM NO. 8
Q2: Please provide details for the proposed sediment basin containment systems. The plans reference
Specification Section 104, but the contract documents do not define the requirements for this item. Please
clarify.
A2: Specification Section 104 refers to FDOT Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction: SECTION 104
PREVENTION, CONTROL, AND ABATEMENT OF EROSION AND WATER POLLUTION.
Q3: The summary of pay items on page C1C, pay item 0104-7 calls for 6 ea. Sediment Basin/Containment
System. Where would I find that feature of work in the bid drawings?
A3: The sediment basin containment system locations are shown in the plans, see sheet C16.
Q4: On bid drawing sheet C15 there are 2 rectangles blocked out and they are called planting area, (See planting
area detail sheet) Where would I find that page? Also, there doesn’t appear to be a pay item for this feature.
A4: There is no planting required. Please delete these instructions from the plans.
Q5: What is the engineer’s expectation for attachment of the gabion baskets to the geogrid? Are they only
requesting attachment to the basket and not into the hillside? If several baskets are connected together as shown
in sheet C11 are we only connecting the baskets to each other?
A5: Connections should be per manufacturer’s recommendations.
Q6: Station 13+79 shows a steep slope for the gabion baskets, this amount of weight if the hillside were to
become saturated would tear the geogrid. Would the county allow for manta ray anchors to install into the hillside
attaching to the gabion baskets?
A6: The geogrid is per the geotechnical engineer’s recommendations. Alternative designs will not be considered during
the bidding process.
Q7: What is the total length of the sheet pile wall in linear feet? The drawings show it to be around 300 LF but
DEP says that the wall is 500 LF.
A7: The wall is to be constructed per the plans.
This addendum is binding and is to be considered as if contained within the original bid documents of Bid No. 20260211.
Bidders are required to acknowledge receipt of this addendum on their bid forms.
