IMPROVEMENTS TO VARIOUS PARKS
CONTRACT NO. FIN-24PARKS
The City of Brockton invites contractors to submit Bid Proposals for Improvements to Various Parks #
FIN-24PARKS which includes seven parks, the Bent Playground at 117 Belmont Avenue, the Buckley
Playground at 150 Clinton Street, the Edgar Playground at 177 Dover Street, the Timothy Holster
Memorial Park at 830 West Chestnut Street, the Plymouth Street Playground at 53 Plymouth Street, the
Tukis Playground at 130 Melrose Street, and the Gilbert Walker Playground at 50 May Avenue, all in
Brockton, MA 02301, in accordance with the documents prepared by HKT Architects Inc., 24 Roland
Street, Charlestown, MA 02129
The work is estimated to cost $1,935,000.00
The scope of work includes but is not limited to removal of existing trees, fencing, playground surfacing
and equipment, concrete walks, paving, cold planning of pavement, site improvements, bleachers,
electrical at one park, metal handrailing and miscellaneous other items and providing new fencing,
concrete walks, playground surfacing and equipment, play surface coating, bleachers, precast concrete
edging, bituminous paving, line stripping, topsoil, grading and seeding, a premanufactured gazebo at one
park electrical at one park, timber guard railing at one park, metal handrailing at one park and
miscellaneous other items.
All bids for the project are subject to the provisions of M.G.L., Chapter 30 Section 39M, and to minimum
wages as required by the 29 CFR 5, Davis/Bacon Act.
This project is being Electronically Bid (E-Bid). All bids shall be submitted online at
www.Projectdog.com.
General Bids will be received online until, 2:00 PM, (local legal time) on October 4, 2023. Hard copy
bids will not be accepted by the Awarding Authority. Tutorials and instructions are available online at

A Pre-Bid Conference will be held at the Bent Playground, 117 Belmont Avenue, Brockton, MA 02301 at
10:30 AM on Wednesday, September 20, 2023. Each of the other parks will be visited afterwards in the
following order; Buckley Playground at 150 Clinton Street, the Edgar Playground at 177 Dover Street, the
Timothy Holster Memorial Park at 830 West Chestnut Street, the Plymouth Street Playground at 53
Plymouth Street, the Tukis Playground at 130 Melrose Street, and the Gilbert Walker Playground at 50
May Avenue.
Bid forms and contract documents are available online at www.Projectdog.com after 11:00 AM on
Wednesday, August 30, 2023. Enter Project Code 857757 in the project locator box and select “Acquire
Documents” to download documents or to purchase hard copies. New users to Projectdog.com must first

Any and all addenda shall be posted online at Projectdog.com. Each individual or firm recorded as having
received the contract documents will be notified by email if and when addenda are issued. Hard copies of
the addenda will not be mailed or faxed to plan holders. It is the sole responsibility of the Bidder to
review any and all addenda prior to the bid opening online at Projectdog.com.
The Contract Documents will be on file and may be viewed but not removed at the Brockton Parks
Department, 45 Meadow Lane, Brockton, MA 02301. Contact Tim Carpenter at (508) 580-7860.
No interpretations of the meaning of the plans, specifications, or other pre-bid documents shall be made to
any bidder. Every request must be in writing. Questions concerning this project shall be submitted via

Deadline for General bidder questions, due in writing shall be Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at 12:01
PM.
Questions received after the above deadlines may not be considered by the City of Brockton.
The right is reserved by the City of Brockton, through the Chief Procurement Officer to reject any or all
Bids, if it is in the public interest so to do.
