ADDENDUM NO. 1
Dear Proponents,
This addendum is issued to reflect the following immediately. It shall be the responsibility of
interested Bidders to adhere to any changes or revisions to the IFB as identified in this Addendum
No. 1. This documentation shall become permanent and made part of the departmental files.
Attachment A: Pre-Bid Agenda
Attachment B: Revised Base Bid Form
Attachment C: Special Provisions for Section 533-B
Question No. 1: Could you please provide a scope of work and the amount of radio, newspaper or
other media that will be required for Bid Item 618011 Public Awareness?
Answer No. 1: The Bid Item 618011 Public Awareness was deemed not necessary for this level of
effort needed for the project and has been removed as part of this Addendum
Question No. 2: Would it be possible to establish an Allowance for the Public Awareness?
Answer No. 2: See Answer #1
Question No. 3: It appears there are two utility lines (of unknown type) lying exposed in the bottom
of the arrow channel. What are we to do with them? Do we need to take utilities into account for the
job?
Answer No. 3: Yes, there may be active telephone, fiber optic, and water lines in the area south of the
road, within the road ROW. The contractor should identify all utilities in the vicinity of the CBC
apron and erosion protection structures. The contractor will have to coordinate with any utilities
having conflicts to get those lines adjusted or relocated prior to construction. If utility conflicts are
encountered that impact the schedule, the Contractor shall promptly notify the County. Requests for

additional Contract Time will be evaluated and may be granted, as appropriate, in accordance with
the Contract Documents.
Question No. 4: Are we going to be using a high-strength concrete for the patching on the bridge? If
so, can you specify the strength of concrete desired?
Answer No. 4:
Note 5 on sheet 5-1 of the Contract Plans refers to Section 533 of the NMDOT Specs. 533.2.1 of the
Specs addresses the material to be used based on the repair depth. Section 533 is to be followed for
patching and concrete repair.
Question No. 5: It appears there is a possible access route to the bottom of the arroyo from Highway
285 adjacent to the worksite. Is this an acceptable access point to the job site?
Answer No. 5: Access to the site has previously been granted to the county by the adjacent shopping
center through a temporary work permit. Any access to the site will require the contractor to
communicate with the adjacent landowners and obtain necessary permits and approvals.
Question No. 6: From where will we source water for this project?
Answer No. 6: The water source for the project is the contractor’s responsibility. The contractor can
contact the county’s utilities division to assist with setting up and account and locating county water
sources if desired.
Question No. 7: Do we need a full time Traffic Control Supervisor for this job? Or can our general
supervisor for the job conduct TCS operations?
Answer No. 7: Due to minimal disruption and short project duration, it is allowable for the
contractor’s supervisor to control TCS operations if the supervisor has the proper TCS certifications.
Question No. 8: Our anode supplier needs to know if the XP2 or XP4 anodes are required for this
project. Which anode is needed is not stated in the plans or Standard Specifications or Standard
Drawings.
Answer No. 8:
The Contractor shall furnish pre-manufactured galvanic anodes designed for cathodic protection
when embedded in concrete and tied to steel reinforcing. The core of the anode shall consist of a
minimum of 100 grams (3.5 oz) of electrolytic high grade zinc in compliance with ASTM B 418 Type

of 14, or encased in a Material that uses activation methods to assure performance. The anodes shall
have one side that is less than 1-1/2” in height.
Question No. 9: On Sheet 5-1, Scope of Work Note Number 3, there is a reference to a Special
Provision 533-B, Embedded Galvanic Anodes.
Could you provide us with a copy of that Special Provision and does that Special Provision clarify
