2025 ROAD IMPROVEMENTS PROJECTS
INVITATION FOR BID
IFB2026-013
The TOWN OF HAMILTON, Massachusetts, acting through its Department of Public Works,
invites sealed bids for "2025 Drainage and Paving Improvements Project IFB2026-013”.
Bids will be received at the office of the Hamilton Town Clerk, Patton Homestead (Temp. Town
Hall), located at 650 Asbury Street, Hamilton, Massachusetts 01982 until 10:00 am local time
on December 2nd, 2025. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at 10:30 am, same day, at
the Hamilton Wenham Public Library, located at 14 Union Street, Hamilton, MA 01982.
The Base Bid Work consists of roadway pavement resurfacing with minor drainage work along
Miles River Road with bid alternates that include drainage and paving along Bridge Street as
well as pavement resurfacing along Essex Street. Alternates may be added if additional funding
is secured.
This project is being funded in whole or in part by Chapter 90 and municipal funds. To bid on
this project, Contractors must be prequalified in accordance with 720 CMR 5.00,
Prequalification of Contractors by MassDOT Highway Division in the category of Pavement -
Surfacing, for the project with an estimated value of $1,958,548.75.
Bid Security: Certified, treasurer's or cashier's check or bid bond in the sum of five (5) percent of
the Total Bid is required.
Electronic copy (PDF format) of Contract Documents may be obtained on November 6th, 2025
at 10:00 am at https://theengineeringcorp.com/bids/. There is no fee associated with obtaining
documents by email. Hard copy of Documents will not be mailed to Bidders.
All Bids for this project are subject to applicable bidding laws of Massachusetts, including
General Laws Chapter 30, Section 39M as amended.
Attention of bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to
be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under this Contract as determined by the
Department of Labor and Industries under provisions of the Massachusetts General Laws
Chapter 149, Section 26-27, inclusive, as amended.
The successful Bidder must furnish 100 percent Performance and Labor and Materials Bonds.
The Owner and Engineer, being considered the sole and only judge, reserves the right to waive
any informality in, or to reject, any or all bids, should the Owner deem it to be in the Owner's best
interest to do so.
