    The following additions, deletions and/or modifications are to be incorporated into the Contract
    Documents and acknowledgement of receipt of this addendum shall be so noted on the Proposal Form
    submitted.
    BID DOCUMENTS
    C-150 NOTICE OF ADVERTISEMENT
    REVISE the first paragraph of the bid advertisement to read as follows:
    Montgomery County Purchasing will receive sealed Bids for the above titled project at the
    Montgomery County Government Center located in Suite 2C at 755 Roanoke Street,
    Christiansburg, VA 24073, until 3pm local time on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at which time the
    Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Any Bids received after the specified time and date
    will not be considered.
    REVISE the last sentence of sixth paragraph of the bid advertisement to read as follows:
    All pre-bid questions must be submitted by email to mtomlinson@foresightdesignservices.com
    by Friday, March 15, 2024.

    SECTION 01 31 25 - GRANDSTAND SEATING SYSTEM
    PARAGRAPH 1.03, C, i:
    DELETE “ . . . with inset pressbox.” from the end of this sentence.

    DELETE this entire specification section.
    SECTION 10 21 13.17 PHENOLIC CORE TOILET COMPARMENT
    DELETE this entire specification section. The Owner desires the toilets conform to the PLASTIC
    TOILET COMPARTMENTS specification section 10 21 13.19.
    SECTION 32 18 23.13 - INFIELD SKINNED SURFACE MATERIAL FOR BASEBALL / SOFTBALL
    PARAGRAPH 1.04 QUALITY ASSURANCE:
    REVISE Paragraph A to read as follows:
    “A. Installer Qualifications: Installers of infield materials specified shall have, at minimum,
    seven (7) years of experience specializing in athletic field construction and/or maintenance
    involving successful installations of similar projects and materials. Installers of materials
    specified shall have, at minimum, five successful installations of similar projects and materials.
    Installers shall be in possession of and demonstrate knowledge of the use of laser guided
    finishing equipment.”
    SECTION 32 91 19 - TOPSOIL PLACEMENT AND GRADING
    SECTION 2.01 GENERAL:
    REVISE Paragraph A to read as follows:
    “A. At a minimum, topsoil shall conform to the pertinent provisions of VESCH 3.30 and VDOT
    Section 602, except as described herein.”
    SECTION 2.02 TOPSOIL TESTING:
    REMOVE Paragraph B AND REPLACE with the following new Paragraph B:
    B. Soil Physical Proper es / Textural Analysis: The topsoil material to be used on the
    designated athle c / recrea on field areas shall be sampled for tes ng at a
    laboratory for physical proper es / textural analysis par cle size analysis and
    saturated hydraulic ac vity. Physical performance tes ng may be required if there
    are discrepancies in the samples.
    i. Use of stockpiled topsoil sourced onsite: Upon approval of the sampled
    stockpiled topsoil, the material shall be released for placement on field
    surfaces. Upon review of the topsoil test results, if the topsoil, in its current
    condi on, is determined to be unsuitable for use in the proposed applica ons,
    addi onal work may be required for blending or otherwise modifying the

    material to make it suitable for the proposed applica on. In the case where the
    project is scoped for using on-site topsoil material, the Contractor will NOT be
    financially responsible for any addi onal remedia on work required to make
    the topsoil suitable rela ve to these textural analysis results.
    ii. Use of imported topsoil: If impor ng topsoil for applica on on the athle c field
    areas, then the necessary test results (chemical and physical/textural analysis)
    shall be provided to confirm that the sourced material meets the required
    specifica ons.”
    SECTION 2.03 SPECIAL TOPSOIL MIX – LAWN AREA (Playfield Soil)
    REMOVE the entire Section 2.03 Special Topsoil Mix AND REPLACE with the following new
    Section 2.03 Special Topsoil Mix:
    “2.03 SPECIAL TOPSOIL MIX ATHLETIC FIELD AREAS
    C. Descrip on: Topsoil used within the limits of the athle c fields shall be as follows:
    i. Mechanically blended for accurate and homogeneous results;
    ii. Consistent texture and free of deleterious material;
    iii.Screened and free from loose debris and/or rocks;
    iv.Classified by the USDA Soil Textural Classifica on system as sandy loam, loam,
    silt loam, loamy sand, or sandy clay loam;
    v. Organic ma er: contain at least two percent (>/= 2%) by weight;
    vi.Clay content: 7% - 20%
    vii.Soluble salts: contain no more than four hundred parts per million (<400 ppm);
    viii. pH range: 6.0 – 7.5.
    D. The topsoil supplier must provide tes ng data on imported soil for the past six (6)
    months.”
    DRAWINGS
    C0-02 GENERAL NOTES
    REMOVE AND REPLACE Note #4 under the “GENERAL ESC, GRADING & DRAINAGE NOTES” to
    now read as follows:
    “4. ALL COMPACTION REQUIREMENTS SHALL BE CONDUCTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
    PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS. ANY WORK SUBJECT TO VDOT INSPECTION SHALL BE CONDUCTED IN
    ACCORDANCE WITH VDOT SPECIFICATIONS.”

    REVISE call-out note that currently reads “CONCRETE PAD WITH ALUMINUM BLEACHER STAND
    SYSTEM” to now correctly read as “CONCRETE PAD WITH GRANDSTAND SEATING SYSTEM”;
    there are a total of 3 such call-out notes on this sheet referring to total of four concrete pads,
    two for Softball Field #1 and two for Softball Field #2.
    REVISE call-out notes that currently read “10’ HIGH X 132’ LONG BALL-CATCH FENCE SYSTEM
    ALONG CENTERLINE OF 8” FLUSH CURB” to read as follows:
    “KWIK GOAL 14’ HIGH X 65’ LONG MULTI-SPORT BACKSTOP NETTING SYSTEM BY ANTHEM
    SPORTS (OR APPROVED EQUAL) CENTERED BEHIND GOAL.”
    REVISE orientation of PROPOSED STATIC MONUMENT SIGN to be perpendicular to Riner Road
    (Route 8) so sign is visible from both travel directions as shown in the revision below.
    ADD a pole-mounted green street name sign per VDOT standard sign designation D3-1, 1a
    directly to the North of the proposed ’25 MPH SPEED LIMIT’ sign at the entrance to the site.
    Contractor shall coordinate with Owner on street name prior to manufacturing.

    opening with the far-left dugout column.
    C2-03 SITE LAYOUT AND DIMENSIONAL PLAN
    REVISE call-out note that currently reads “CONCRETE PAD WITH ALUMINUM BLEACHER STAND
    SYSTEM” to now correctly read as “CONCRETE PAD WITH GRANDSTAND SEATING SYSTEM”;
    there is one such call-out note on this sheet referring to a concrete pad for Softball Field #2.
    This is the same pad referenced in the above addendum item for sheet C2-02, but it also
    appears on sheet C2-03.
    REVISE call-out note that currently reads “ALUMINUM BLEACHER STAND SYSTEM INSTALLED ON
    PIERS ON EXISTING SLOPE” to now correctly read as “PERMANENT I-BEAM STYLE GRANDSTAND
    ON CONCRETE PIERS OVER SLOPE; PROVIDE MIN. OF 200 SEATING CAPACITY”; there is one
    such call-out note on this sheet referring to a grandstand system located on the slope between
    Multi-Purpose Field #2 and Softball Field #4.
