Scope of Work: Contractor shall be responsible for providing and installing new photoelectric battery-operated smoke detectors in every bedroom at properties throughout the agency in accordance with Building Code and Federal HUD Regulations. There are approximately 797 wood ceilings and 1,664 concrete ceilings, see table below for bedroom breakdown.
Smoke alarm will be installed on ceilings and must be 18 inches from the wall and 18 inches from the doorway.
Smoke alarm will be installed at least 10 feet from a cooking appliance.
Smoke alarm should not: - Be installed near windows, doors, or ducts where drafts might interfere with their operation.
Installation inside each bedroom; - Within 21 feet of any door to a bedroom measured along a path of travel; and - Where a smoke detector installed outside a bedroom is separated from an adjacent living area by a door.
Smoke detectors offered by the bidder shall have 10-Year sealed lithium battery, voice notifications, test button, and end of unit life alerts. The authority reserves the right to determine whether the smoke detectors offered are acceptable.
