Synopsis:

The Village of Drake is seeking a reliable and hardworking individual to assist with the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the local arena. This position is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming facility for hockey, skating, tournaments, and community events.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with ice installation, removal, resurfacing, and daily ice maintenance.
Operate and perform routine maintenance on the Zamboni and related equipment.
Monitor ice quality, depth, and temperature.
Open and close the facility and assist with ice bookings and facility rentals.
Collect and track rental and public skating fees.
Perform general building maintenance, minor repairs, and safety checks.
Maintain facility cleanliness, including dressing rooms, washrooms, lobby, kitchen, and spectator areas.
Sweep and mop floors and remove garbage and recycling.
Clean and restock washroom and cleaning supplies.
Manage and monitor arena consumable supplies, including propane and cleaning products.
Coordinate with the Recreation Board regarding maintenance requirements and operational concerns.
Assist with tournaments, special events, and community functions, including additional cleaning before and after events.
Ensure snow is promptly removed from doors, exits, and other required areas.
Respond to after-hours facility emergencies and report maintenance or safety concerns.
Perform other related duties as required to support the safe and efficient operation of the arena.

The successful candidate will be dependable, safety-conscious, able to work independently, and comfortable working flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays during the arena season.
