HVAC Upgrades Reingold

The City of Fitchburg, the Awarding Authority, invites sealed bids for the “HVAC Upgrades – Reingold Elementary School”, 70 Reingold Avenue, Fitchburg, MA 01420, in accordance with the Drawings and Specifications prepared by BLW Engineers, 311 Great Road, Littleton, MA 01460, dated March 4, 2026, for installation of a new VRF system serving classrooms at South Street Early Learning Center. Construction is anticipated to start in the summer of 2026; the estimated construction cost $4,00,000.

General Contractor bids will be received until April 1, 2026, at 2:00 PM at www.biddocs.com . General Contractor shall be DCAMM certified in General Building Construction.

Filed sub-bids will be received until March 20, 2026, at 2:00 PM at www.biddocs.com . Filed sub-bid categories for the purposes of this bid are: Acoustical Tile, HVAC, and Electrical.

A bid deposit of at least five percent (5%) of the total project is required. A Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Payment Bond, each in the sum of 100% of the Contract Price will be required of the successful Bidder. Project is subject to compliance with prevailing wage requirements.

This solicitation is being conducted in accordance with the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 149, and any resulting contract will be strictly awarded in accordance with the requirements of the solicitation. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, including without limitation, nonconforming, nonresponsive, unbalanced, or conditional bids. The City reserves the right to waive all informalities not involving price, time, or scope of work, and to negotiate contract terms with the successful bidder.

Complete sets of bidding documents shall be used in preparing bids; the City does not assume any responsibility for errors or misinterpretations resulting from the use of incomplete sets of bidding documents or for modifications to the bidding documents.

An optional Pre-Bid meeting will be held on March 12, 2026, at 10:00 AM, at 70 Reingold Avenue, Fitchburg, MA. Bidders shall examine all information and materials contained in and with this solicitation. Failure to do so shall be at the bidder’s risk.
