The King County Library System ("KCLS" or "Owner") is seeking proposals bids from qualified Contractor/Vendors for the purpose of obtaining information and firm proposals bids for HVAC Maintenance and Repair for Duvall and Sammamish libraries .
The King County Library System ("KCLS" or "Owner") is one of the top three largest circulating libraries in the United States. KCLS is one of the busiest library systems in the country, serving 1.2 million residents through 49 community libraries, an institutional library (King County Children and Family Justice Center) and 17 mobile service vehicles. The KCLS service area encompasses 2,100 square miles of rural, suburban and urban King County surrounding, but not including the City of Seattle, serving 36 municipalities and 18 school districts. KCLS employs over 900 full-time and part-time staff, and circulates over 21 million print, media and electronic items each year.
Established in 1942, per RCW 27.12.040 KCLS is a special purpose taxing district that is governed by a seven-member Board of Trustees and operates under the constitution and laws of the State of Washington.
Both Duvall and Sammamish libraries are places of work and gathering spots for the general public. King County Library System requires a Contractor/Vendor who is capable of covering both sites in the King County area and can still provide individual care of each site. Each library is unique in its layout and patron usage so a one-size-fits-all approach will not work for the entire system. Reference the attachments to this RFP for Duvall and Sammamish locations, the Days and Opening hours, and the KCLS Representatives.
Due to nature of specific HVAC design needed for each library, visiting the sites is required. Date, time, and starting location is posted in the Timeline section.
