BID NUMBER: 082824
Sealed Bids for HVAC Improvements at the Danbury War Memorial will be received at Danbury City Hall, Purchasing Agent's office, 155 Deer Hill Ave., Danbury, CT 06810 until 10:00 A.M., October 17, 2024. Prior to the public opening of the bids, any bid submitted may be withdrawn by the bidder if said bidder discovers mathematical or clerical errors in his bid. Any such bid withdrawal may be made without penalty or prejudice. After the bids are opened, all offers will be considered firm for a period of ninety (90) days and no bid may be withdrawn for any reason during that period except for such a cause as the Danbury War Memorial Association, Inc. in its sole discretion deems sufficient.
Work consists of all labor, tools, materials, and equipment necessary for the removal and replacement of existing HVAC, plumbing, electrical and related architectural systems. Work also includes all necessary hazardous materials abatement.
A bid bond in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid shall accompany each bid. A non-collusion statement for Prime Contractors and any addendum acknowledgment must also be submitted at the time of the bid. A performance, labor, and materials bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the accepted bid will be required. This is a State assisted contract. The contractor must comply with the requirements as specified herein.

A mandatory, pre-bid meeting between prospective bidders and the Architect will convene inside the Main Entrance at the site, 1 Memorial Drive, Danbury on October 1, 2024 at 2:00 pm. The deadline for RFIs is October 8, 2024 at 4 pm.
Contractors whose bid exceeds $1,000,000 shall hold a current “DAS Contractor Prequalification Certificate” (not a predetermination letter) from the Department of Administrative Services of the State of Connecticut according to C.G.S. 4a-100, C.G.S. 4b-101, and C.G.S. 4b-91. These bidders shall submit with their bids, unless noted otherwise, a “DAS Contractor Prequalification Certificate” along with a current “Update (Bid) Statement”. Any bid submitted without a copy of the DAS Prequalification Certificate and an Update (Bid) Statement shall be invalid. Contractors must be classified with DAS as GENERAL BUILDING CONSTRUCTION (GROUP B) and/or HVAC with the appropriate aggregate. Additionally, any subcontractor working for a General Contractor whose work exceeds $1,000,000 must also be prequalified with the DAS as per C.G.S. 4b-9l (j)
This contract is subject to state contract compliance requirements, including set-aside (twenty-five percent (25%) SBE and six and one-quarter percent (6.25%) M/W/DisBE) and non-discrimination requirements enforced by the CHRO. The Contractor must be Certified to participate in Energize CT Incentive Program
