The Minnesota Department of Information Technology Services (MNIT) partnering with the Minnesota Department of Education, (MDE), intends to renew an agreement with TransACT Communications, Inc. (TransACT), for up to 12 months.

This software is for parent notification that is required under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), ESSA Collection and General Education Collection. This software enables MDE to use an online compliance and communication center to provide required state and federal documentation evidencing parent notification and consultation in languages that a parent understands.

The renewal of the software will allow the State to continue to make proprietary, customized documentation designed as necessary to reflect applicable state and federal law. TransACT is the only provider of the software that MDE identified as compatible with the Minnesota English Learner Program and federal requirements. TransACT retains exclusive ownership, copyrights, and trademark of their proprietary cloud services, and the renewal is not available through a third party.
