Bid Type: Job Contract Locations: Chittenden Keywords: Construction (Non Building) Bid Description: ADVERTISEMENT AND INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS You are invited to submit a bid for Hinesburg Road Sewer Rehabilitation in the City of South Burlington. All bids shall be accepted via email prior to 1:00 PM November 1st, 2024. Bids shall be on a lump sum and unit price basis as indicated in the bid form. Emailed submissions shall be sent to all the following addresses: Jason Booth, PE jbooth@aeengineers.com David Wheeler dwheeler@southburlingtonvt.gov Emailed submissions shall include a subject line of “Hinesburg Road Sewer Rehabilitation”. All bids must be submitted on the bid form included with this Request for Bids. No lines on the bid form may be left blank. Bidders are highly encouraged to submit their bids earlier than the listed deadline to prevent issues with the submission process. Bids received electronically past the November 1st, 2024 1:00 P.M. deadline will be considered late and thus will not be included in the bid tabulation. Bidders are required to reach out to confirm receipt once a bid has been submitted. A bid tabulation will be released to all bidders within 5 business days. Before submitting a proposal all bidders must carefully examine all documents and specifications provided, including VTrans Permit #46526, visit the work site, and fully inform themselves as to all existing conditions. All questions by prospective bidders must be submitted by October 25th, 2024 at least (7) seven days before the bid opening. Any questions should be directed to: Jason Booth, PE jbooth@aeengineers.com David Wheeler dwheeler@southburlingtonvt.gov A pre-bid conference will be held at 10:00 AM local time on October 18th, 2024 at the 104 Landfill Road, South Burlington, Vermont 05403. Attendance at the pre-bid conference is highly encouraged but is not mandatory. Certificates of insurance are required to be provided to the Owner within ten (10) days of the execution of the Notice to Proceed. See Appendix A for Insurance Requirements. PROJECT DESCRIPTION & SCOPE OF WORK The City of South Burlington is requesting bids to enter into a contract for the installation of approximately 10 LF of new 16” DI sewer forcemain, 10 LF of new 14” DI sewer forcemain, 23 LF of new 18” PVC gravity sewer, 95 LF of new 16” PVC sewer forcemain, 17 LF of new 14” PVC sewer forcemain, one (1) new 12’x6’ forcemain discharge structure, and necessary appurtenances. Schedule The selected Contractor shall commence the work described under this contract on the date of the issuance of the Notice to Proceed and shall complete all work no later than July 15th, 2025, or prior to the closing of paving plants. VTrans has provided approval for the contractor to perform the work with a one-lane closure during daytime working hours. The contractor is encouraged to maximize the work time during the day to reduce the overall duration of impact. Night work for the bypass piping interconnections may still be required. Nightwork would be considered between the hours of 7:00 PM and 6:00 AM. Temporary pavement will be required on any disturbed roadway surface at the end of the workday on Friday.
