HIGHLANDER WAY MIDDLE SCHOOL - REMODEL (REBID)
Howell Public Schools will receive firm prime contractor bids for the labor, materials, equipment, and all other services to
complete the following project: Highlander Way Middle School - Remodel located at 511 N. Highlander Way, Howell, MI 48843.
This project will consist of remodeling the existing 174,000 square foot building area, including demolition through the middle of
the two story building to construct an open clearstory in the middle of the building.
The bid documents consist of Plans and Specifications prepared by Kingscott Associates, and Front End documents consisting
of Instructions to Bidders, Scopes of Work, and Bid Forms prepared by AUCH Construction. Documents may be downloaded
from Precon Suite (formerly Pipeline Suite) on or after Tuesday, April 21st, 2026. If you need assistance viewing bid documents
or project documents through Precon Suite, please contact Travis Collins with AUCH Construction at 248-334-2000.
Pre-Bid Meeting: A Pre-Bid meeting will be held at Highlander Way Middle School, 511 N. Highlander Way, Howell, MI 48843,
on Monday, April 27th, 2026 at 3:00 PM. Please meet at the front (West) main entrance. This meeting is not mandatory, but
highly recommended to all bidders.
Bids will be accepted via Precon Suite (formerly Pipeline Suite) for electronic bid submission. Hard copy sealed bids will also be
accepted; however, we strongly encourage using the Precon Suite electronic submission process. Please upload the appropriate
proposal forms provided by the construction manager in the submission. If hard copy bids are delivered, they must be sealed
bid on the forms furnished by the Construction Manager, and must be completed in full. An opaque envelope bearing your
proposal must identify your company, the project name, the proposal being bid and be addressed and delivered to:

Bids must be delivered no later than 12:00 PM (EST), Thursday, May 14th, 2026 to the locations indicated above. The Board
of Education will not accept bids submitted after the date and time specified for bid submission. All late bid proposals will be
returned to the bidder unopened. Precon Suite will not allow electronic bid submissions after the due date and time. Completing
the electronic bid submission questions and uploading bid forms does take time, which must be accounted for and be fully
completed and submitted prior to the bid due date and time.
Bids over the State threshold of $31,321 must be accompanied with either a certified cashier's check or a U.S. treasury listed
security bond in the amount of 5% of the bid amount. Bids received without this guaranty will not be read or considered. Electronic
scans of the cashier's checks are not accepted. All cashiers' checks must be delivered prior to the due date and time, and be
made payable to Howell Public Schools. Cashier's Checks will be returned to the bidder upon execution of the contract. All
proposals shall be firm for a period of ninety (90) days.
Bids must be accompanied by a sworn and notarized statement disclosing any familial relationship that exists between the owner
or any employee of the bidder and any member of the Board of Education, or the Superintendent. Additionally, bids shall be
accompanied by a sworn and notarized statement for the Iran Economic Sanctions Act Affidavit of Compliance and Equal
Opportunity Statement. Bids not accompanied by these documents may not be accepted.
Bids will be publicly opened and read via a public and virtual meeting on Microsoft Teams held at the Howell Public Schools
Admin. Building starting at 1:00 PM (EST) on Thursday, May 14th, 2026 in the Edinburgh Room. To access the Microsoft Teams

Successful bidders whose proposals are $50,000 or more will be required to furnish a Satisfactory Performance and Payment
Bond in the amount of 100% of their bid. The cost of the Bond shall be included in each proposal.
The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids in whole or in part, and to waive any informality therein.
The Board of Education reserves the right to accept that bid which in its opinion is in the best interest of the Owner, or to award
the contract to an alternate bidder other than the bidder(s) submitting the best financial Bid (low bidder) in its sole and absolute
discretion. Approval by the Board of Education of a Recommendation to award a contract to a particular contractor does not
constitute a formal contract, and the Board of Education reserves the right to retract an approval of a recommendation.
