ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Bids for construction of the HICKORY AIRPORT EMAS WALL will be received by THE
CITY OF HICKORY in Council Chambers at 76 N Center Street, Hickory, NC until 2:00 p.m.
(local time) on May 14th, 2026. Bids will be reviewed by the design team and
recommendation will be made to the City of Hickory.
The project consists, in general, of approximately as shown on the provided plans.
Contract documents are on file and may be examined at Clayton Engineering & Design, PLLC,
Hickory, NC.
Bidders, suppliers and subcontractors may purchase contract documents from the Engineer for
bidding purposes at a cost of $125.00 per set not including postage; this cost is not considered a
deposit and will not be refunded. Documents need not be returned to the Engineer.
Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond by an acceptable surety company
for not less than 5% of the amount of the bid, made payable to the Owner as a bid guarantee.
A performance bond and a payment bond, each in the amount of 100% of the contract price, will
be required of each successful bidder.
In accordance with North Carolina law, bids will be accepted only from bidders who are licensed
general contractors in the State of North Carolina. Small, female, minority, and local contractors
are encouraged to bid on this project.
No bid may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the actual bid opening date.
Mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on April 30th at City of Hickory Council Chambers
at 10:00am.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids or any part of a bid, and to waive
informalities and technicalities in the bid.
