Overview
Summary

The County of Sacramento is soliciting proposals from qualified firms to provide HEAVY FLEET TIRES AND TIRE SERVICES to the County of Sacramento in accordance with the general and special terms and conditions contained in this Request for Proposals (RFP).

Successful proposers must be able to deliver tires to all County shops as required and to provide services as shown herein. Contract(s) will be awarded to the proposer(s) that represents the best value to Sacramento County.

All products and services must be as described in the Pricing and Scope of Work sections of this proposal. Deviations from requirements will not be considered.

The County intends to award a contract to the successful proposer (Contractor) for an initial 12-month term. For reasons of economy and efficiency, the County reserves the right to extend the term of the resulting contract for four (4) one-year terms following the initial 12-month term upon mutual agreement between County and Contractor. The County reserves the right to award contracts to more than one proposer, if in the best interest of the County.

Background

Presently the County of Sacramento's Department of General Services (Fleet Services Division) and Department of Airports support over 1,000 pieces of heavy equipment, which includes heavy-duty trucks, trailers and off-road construction equipment. In order to maintain a high level of efficiency a contracted vendor is required to provide supplemental services, including tire retreading.

The total estimated annual expenditure against any contract issued as a result of this proposal is approximately $500,000. This value is an estimate only and is not intended to be a minimum purchase, nor will it bind the County in any way. This value is based on past usage and is accurate to the best of our ability.
