Overview

Summary

The City of Pasadena Public Works Department, Building Systems & Fleet Management Division, is requesting bids from qualified vendors to provide heavy-duty truck spring, suspension, and alignment services for the City's fleet vehicles.

This contract will support heavy-duty City-owned vehicles including, but not limited to, refuse trucks, fire apparatus (pumpers and ladder trucks), other emergency response vehicles, and 3/4 ton and larger vehicles.

The City anticipates awarding a contract with a term of up to five (5) years, subject to City approval.

Background

The City of Pasadena operates and manages approximately 1,100 vehicles in its Fleet. Pasadena’s Fleet Management team performs repair and maintenance services on City vehicles and equipment on a routine (planned) and emergency (unplanned) basis.

While City Fleet staff perform a wide range of in-house maintenance and repairs, certain spring, suspension, and alignment services require specialized equipment, technical expertise, specialized tooling, and equipment that are not always available internally. To ensure timely repairs, maintain vehicle safety, and minimize operational downtime, the City requires an outsourced, qualified vendor to provide heavy-duty spring suspension, and alignment repair services.
