Hanley House Exterior Repairs and Waterproofing Project

The City of Clayton is accepting sealed bids for the Hanley House Exterior Repair and Waterproofing Project. Bids will be received by the City of Clayton Director of Parks and Recreation, 50 Gay Avenue, Clayton, MO 63105, until 2:00 P.M. CDT, on Thursday, October 30, 2025. The bids will then be publicly opened and read aloud at The Center of Clayton, Meeting Room C at 2:05 P.M.

The Scope of Work for this contract includes furnishing all labor and material required to complete the project. This includes but is not limited to, removal and replacement of current roofing system on the main building, the kitchen house, and the outhouse. Removal and replacement of current gutters and downspouts. Repair and waterproof all windows to include glazing, panes, sills, and casing. Repair to porches, railings and associated woodwork. Installation of Chimney Caps to prevent water intrusion. Repair and waterproofing of exterior brick and tuckpointing.

The City intends to issue a Notice to Proceed on or before November 17, 2025. Bid documents will be available from the city’s website: www.claytonmo.gov/bids starting Monday, September 29, 2025.

A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. The meeting will take place at Hanley House Pavilion, 7600 Westmoreland Ave, Clayton, MO 63105.

Questions regarding this project should be directed to Justin Whipple, Superintendent of Parks, City of Clayton. All questions shall be submitted in writing via email to jwhipple@claytonmo.gov . No questions will be accepted after 5:00 PM on Monday, October 27, 2025.

Not less than the prevailing hourly rate of wages shall be paid to all workmen performing under this contract in this area according to the rates determined by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations of the State of Missouri.

A bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid amount must accompany each bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.

The City reserves the right to accept or reject any bid and waive any irregularities in the best interest of the City.
