SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory is operated by Stanford University for the Department of Energy. As a management and operating contractor, subcontracts awarded by the Laboratory are not Federal procurements, and are not directly subject to the Federal Acquisition Regulations in 48 CFR. Nonetheless, certain Federal laws, Executive Orders, and regulations may affect our DOE approved purchasing system, as required by statute, regulation, or contract terms and conditions.

Please read the following prompt about this purchase requisition in red below and inform me if you are be able to do a DPAS rated order.
The Defense Priorities and Allocations System (DPAS) regulations issued by the Department of Commerce (DOC) ensure that subcontractors give preferential treatment to purchase orders for national defense and atomic energy programs. Under DPAS, the DOC has delegated to U.S. Government agencies the authority to issue “rated orders.” A rated order is a subcontract in support of authorized national defense or atomic energy programs issued in accordance with
DPAS regulations.
The rated order includes the “Defense Priorities and Allocations System” provision. This is a
rated order certified for national defense use, and you are required to follow all the provisions
of the Defense Priorities and Allocations System (DPAS) regulation (15 CFR Part 700).”

Technical evaluation criteria are as follows:
- Ability to meet the following specs:
- Conformance to all mechanical specifications per: SA-700-974-40 and subcomponents
- Experience sourcing and precision machining low carbon steel/magnetic iron
- Capable of welding 316L tubing and pressure testing stainless tubing assemblies
- Capable of heat-treating low carbon steel in reducing atmosphere in combination with precision machining
- Plating parts per MIL-C-26074 CL 1, GR B
- Experience with DPAS classed orders
