Overview
The County of Tuolumne through its Public Works Engineering Division (“County”) is seeking proposals from qualified firms ("Consultant") to provide professional design services for the Groveland Community Connectivity Project, an Active Transportation Grant Program project located in Groveland, California. Firms responding to this RFP should be fully familiar with and experienced in meeting the requirements of both State and Federal procedures pertaining to grant funded projects and with the Active Transportation Grant Program.
Tuolumne County is located in the center of the California Mother Lode area along the western slope of the Sierra Nevada Mountain range. The County is bordered on the north by Calaveras County, on the south by Mariposa County, on the west by Stanislaus County and on the east by Alpine and Mono Counties. Sonora is the only incorporated city in Tuolumne County and is also the County seat.
Groveland, a former California Gold Rush Town, is located on SR-120 in Tuolumne County, just 25 miles west of Yosemite National Park. Groveland’s downtown Main Street (SR-120) is the lifeline of this historic town, connecting shops, restaurants/bars, lodging, and other key community destinations making it a prime tourist destination. This project will provide a much-needed facelift to the heart of the community, making walking and bicycling safer, more comfortable, and enjoyable for Groveland residents, employees, and visitors.
