Green Waste Hauling and Disposal Services

The City of Palo Alto is conducting a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the hauling of green waste generated by the Public Works Department Urban Forestry operations.

The City of Palo Alto maintains almost 60,000 trees located in the public right of way and on City properties. These maintenance activities generate green waste in the form of wood chips and large un-chipped wood (consisting of tree trunks and tree limbs/logs that are too large to be easily chipped in the field). While the City uses some wood chips as mulch where appropriate and offers chips to residents in the summer months, the amount generated by maintenance activities is in excess of what can be used.
