GRASONVILLE – MAIN STREET (MD-18) INTERCONNECTOR WATER MAIN DESIGN RFP

The design is a 12-inch PVC water main, entirely within SHA right of way from the intersection of Main Street and Kent Narrows Road east to the intersection of Main Street and Chester River Beach Road. The majority of the water main will be replaced via open trench as individual services will be placed along the way for the intervening properties. However, a portion of the water main could be HDD utilizing HDPE. As detailed following, once an alignment is determined, the Project will solely be for the drafting and plan sheet generation, as well as preparing and obtaining permit applications. Common construction details will be provided by the County for incorporation into a plan sheet. A basic sediment control sheet can be provided by the County although it may need updating or modification. Traffic control will utilize standard SHA details. The County will handle the Project Manual, specifications, bidding (other than pre-bid participation, issuance of addenda, and recommendation of award), and construction management and daily inspection.

Refer to attached sketch for possible alignment. Final alignment will be determined at the initial phase of design.
