Description
To eliminate the risk of bidder disqualification based on failure to re-submit in response to an Amendment, as required by the new BC Bid rules, BC Hydro has changed its practice as of November 24, 2022, such that all changes to BC Hydro (including Q&As and Addenda) are now treated as “Addenda” (and not “Amendments”) within the BC Bid rules and, as such, no longer require re-submission by the bidder of any already made submission. Please see Addenda instructions for further information.
The above practice change means that changes (including Q&As and Addendas) to BC Hydro opportunities will no longer be posted in the RFx Documents section of this Overview tab.
Please refer to the Addenda tab for any changes to this opportunity. Supplier Registration
Interested suppliers should note that BC Bid has upgraded its platform and that registration (or re-registration) in the new platform is necessary in order to respond to any opportunity after May 30, 2022. Suppliers are encouraged to register on the new BC Bid platform, in accordance with BC Bid process requirements, well in advance of the Closing Time for the opportunity to which they may want to respond. Supplier registration can take a number of days to complete. Step-by-step guides are available to help users register and create their accounts. Failure to comply with BC Bid requirements is at the supplier’s own risk and BC Hydro does not assume any responsibility for the consequences of such non-compliance, including the supplier’s inability to submit a response to this or any other BC Hydro opportunity. *** Opportunity Details *** This project is for the replacement of existing debris booms at the Stave Falls Dam. The Stave Falls Dam (SFN) is an Extreme Consequence facility situated on the Stave River, 65 km east of Vancouver BC and about 5.6 km upstream from the Ruskin Dam. The project consists of Stave Lake Reservoir, Stave Falls Dam, Blind Slough Dam, and the 91 MW Stave Falls GS. Stave Lake Reservoir has two booms: one upstream of the spillway at Blind Slough Dam and one upstream of the intake at Stave Falls Dam. Both booms are Dutchy style, timber booms with End Span Shore Anchors (ESSAs). The boom upstream of Blind Slough Dam is a shear-type boom, the alignment of which is positioned by dolphin piles (bundles of three steel piles in a frame arranged with the tops of the piles meeting above water and spreading outwards as they extend downward). There is a debris removal spit on the right shoreline near upstream of the right Intake Boom anchor. A bag boom is stored along the right shoreline for debris handling.
Delivery or completion date is 15 December 2025.
This procurement may involve negotiation.
This opportunity is subject to Chapter 5 of the Canadian Free Trade Agreement.
All responses should be in English.
