General Contractors for Public Transit Construction Projects

As requested by the Public Transit and Neighborhood Enhancement Division (hereinafter, the “Division or Department”), the Collier County Board of County Commissioners Procurement Services Division (hereinafter, “County”) has issued this Invitation for Qualification (hereinafter, “IFQ”) with the intent of obtaining proposals from interested and qualified vendors in accordance with the terms, conditions and specifications stated or attached. The vendor, at a minimum, must achieve the requirements of the Specifications or Scope of Work stated.

The selected General Contractor(s) will be responsible for providing complete construction services for a wide range of projects and is responsible for the overall coordination of a project. The General Contractor (GC) provides material, labor, equipment, tools and services necessary for the project. The GC may hire specialized subcontractors to perform all, or some portion of the construction work.

The work under this solicitation will be for projects with a value up to $1,000,000. Any individual work assignment over $500,000 will be subject to approval by the Board of County Commissioners.

The intent of this solicitation is to establish a pool of qualified General Contractors that can provide general public transit related construction and construction related services.

Scope of work to include, but not be limited to; general construction activity related to the Public Transit and Neighborhood Enhancement Division; including bus shelters, structures, enclosures, improvements for buildings, ramps, roadway, walkway, parking areas and related work, landscaping, utility and drainage, illumination, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire suppression, carpentry, roofing, signage, and etc.
