Summary
This Project will rehabilitate deteriorated asphalt concrete pavements at Peter O. Knight, Plant City, and Tampa Executive Airports, where various forms of distress—such as block, longitudinal, and transverse cracking, weathering, raveling, patching, swelling, and ponding—have developed over time. These conditions not only generate Foreign Object Debris (FOD), posing risks to aircraft during takeoff, landing, and taxiing, but also compromise drainage efficiency, leading to uneven surfaces and further potential damage to aircraft and ground equipment.
Background
This Project focuses on pavement rehabilitation at Plant City (PCM), Tampa Executive (VDF), and Peter O. Knight (TPF) airports. Issues being addressed include cracking, weathering, and ponding. These issues collectively pose risks of Foreign Object Debris (FOD) generations and impaired drainage.
