FY27 Membership to Education Commission of the States

The Minnesota Department of Education intends to proceed with an FY27 membership to Education Commission of the States (ECS). The purpose of this membership is to establish and maintain close cooperation and understanding among executive, legislative, professional, educational leadership on a nationwide basis and at the state and local levels. It provides a forum for discussion, development, and recommendation of public policy alternatives in the field of education as well as a clearinghouse of information. The Compact for Education is utilized to facilitate the improvement of state and local education ECS brings together our Commissioners, Steering Committee Members and Partners to connect, inform our work, and prepare for the busy legislative sessions ahead. Participation in the membership is mandated by MN State Statute 127A.80-127A.81.
