IMPORTANT BID ADDENDUM
Item #1 — Addendum #1, 1 page
Item #2 — CADA Answers to Bidder Questions received via email:
1. Question 1: If the bid is below $15,000, do we have to pay prevailing wages?
2. Question 2: What is the process if all asbestos, mold, and lead hours are used up, does the contract end and a new
one get reissued to stay under $15,000?
3. Question 3: The bid schedule lists the item and scope of work as Removal of Asbestos/lead/mold with an hourly
base price to fill in. With all the different abatement activities (Haz/Non-Haz, regulated/ notifiable/non-regulated,
different sized containments, waste volume, etc.) are we supposed to fill in an hourly cost to include labor,
materials, containment construction, waste hauling/disposal, permits, and fees?
4. Question 4: How are hours tracked? Does the tracking include drive time to the site and loading vehicles or just time
on site?
5. Question 5: Do we assume one project at a time requiring less than a 40-yard dumpster or multiple projects at a
time where a 40-yard dumpster would be supplied?

Office located at 1522 14th Street, Sacramento, CA 95814. The bid package will not be accepted if emailed.
The undersigned hereby states that I have received the following, and that any amount(s) proposed to CADA
will be based on the original bid package and all the information provided in this addendum #1.

Question 1: If the bid is below $15,000, do we have to pay prevailing
wages?
Answer: Prevailing wages are not required for bids below $15,000.
Question 2: What is the process if all asbestos, mold, and lead hours
are used up, does the contract end and a new one get reissued to stay
under $15,000?
Answer: NO, we will not issue another contract. This is an annual
contract only.
Question 3: The bid schedule lists the item and scope of work as
Removal of Asbestos/lead/mold with an hourly base price to fill in. With
all the different abatement activities (Haz/Non-Haz, regulated/
notifiable/non-regulated, different sized containments, waste volume,
etc.) are we supposed to fill in an hourly cost to include labor,
materials, containment construction, waste hauling/disposal, permits,
and fees?
Answer: Yes, you are responsible for removing and disposal of all
materials. The hourly rate should include everything. After removal we
do an Air Test to make sure we have passed at CADA’s expense. CADA
does not have permits or fees to pay.
Question 4: How are hours tracked? Does the tracking include drive
time to the site and loading vehicles or just time on site?
Answer: We do not track your hourly rate until you invoice us for each
job done. Rates need to include everything you are bidding on. We
have over 800 apartments.
Question 5: Do we assume one project at a time requiring less than a
40-yard dumpster or multiple projects at a time where a 40-yard
dumpster would be supplied?
Answer: CADA is a property management company that maintains 800
apartments ranging from 235 sq. ft to 1600 sq. ft. what you will be
abating is the 30- to 50-year-old asbestos under the kitchen / bathroom
VCT (vinyl composite tile). You will only receive one to two abatements
each week or as we get them back to maintenance. CADA will not
supply any dumpsters. Please include any costs associated with
abatement in your hourly rate.
