Friends of Lake Ouachita, FOLO Inc., Lake Ouachita Vista Trail - Watchable Wildlife ADA Accessible Elevated Walkway Improvements TAP-23
The Friends of Lake Ouachita board is seeking proposals for a Construction Contract to execute the new build (replacement) of the Vista Trail – ADA Elevated Walkway. At 850’ long, the walkway was built from wood in 2009 and has been fully demolished and removed. Replacement plans are based on the use of Owens Corning “Wear Deck” composite materials built to withstand the environmental conditions, UV exposure, and the fluctuation of water levels in Denby Bay of Lake Ouachita.
Note – The majority of funding for the project is being provided to FOLA by a grant from the State of Arkansas – Arkansas Department of Transportation and will be subject to the requirements of FHWA-1273. The source of ARDOT grant funding is the federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA).
The project sponsor, Friends of Lake Ouachita Inc. hereby notifies all bidders that this contract is subject to applicable labor laws, non-discrimination provisions, wage rate laws, and other federal laws including the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938. The Work Hours Act of 1962 and Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 also apply.
The provisions of the “Build America, Buy America” act will also apply to this project.
The bid opening will occur on Tuesday 6-17-2025 at 10:00 AM at the US Army Corps of Engineers Office, 1424 Blakely Dam Road, Royal, AR 71968.
