Lakeland Provincial Recreation Area (LLPRA) established in 1991; located east of Lac La Biche and 250 kilometres northeast of the city of Edmonton. Situated within LLPRA is Pinehurst Lake Campground, a favourite destination for local anglers, with a staging area outside of the campsite for OHV use for the trail network throughout LLPRA.

The overall project outcome is to develop a new sanitary dumping station with receiving tanks along with a septic field to treat the campground’s effluent at the Pinehurst Lake Campground that will accommodate future infrastructure and effluent from RV’s leaving the campground (124 campsites). Alberta Parks is currently operating the park.
