Food Waste Composting Feasibility Study

The purpose of this RFP is to solicit
proposals from qualified contractors to complete a food waste composting feasibility
study to get a better understanding of what recommended food waste volumes may
be necessary for successful, affordable composting and what composting technologies
or methods that could be successfully implemented in South Dakota communities.
This feasibility study will include working with an interested community or
landfill to complete a food waste composting pilot project, if the selected
contractor can identify a community or landfill within their proposal that is
interested. The information learned from the feasibility study and pilot
project will be used by the state to develop guidance and regulatory
requirements for future food waste composting operations .
