NOTICE is hereby given that sealed bids for Fire Station #5:
Maintenance & Rehabilitation, in the Township of West Orange, Essex County, New Jersey, will be received opened and read in public at the Township of West Orange, Township Council Chamber, 66 Main Street, West Orange, NJ 07052 on WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 20

The Township of West Orange proposes targeted exterior repairs at Fire Station #5 to address water infiltration and safety concerns related to the building’s hose tower and adjacent wall surfaces. The project will consist but not limited to: Fix, Repair & Seal existing Northwest tower walls, Replacing hose tower roof ladder.
Copies of the Plans and Specifications and other proposed Contract Documents are on file and open to public inspection at the office of the Purchasing Department, Room 111, 66 Main Street, West Orange, New Jersey, and may be examined and obtained by properly qualified Contractors at this address on and after TUESDAY JULY 22

, 2025 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding legal holidays, upon a non-refundable payment of $50.00. An additional $20.00 non-refundable fee will be required in advance for all prospective Bidders requesting that the bidding documents be mailed. There is no additional charge should a prospective Bidder request the documents be forwarded by UPS/FedEx (using the Bidder's own account number).
A Pre-Bid Conference is scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Local Prevailing Time on WEDNESDAY, JULY 30

, 2025 at the West Orange Fire Station #5, 25 MT Pleasant Place, West Orange, New Jersey. All General Contractors and Suppliers are invited to attend. At this time, the Prospective Bidders will have the opportunity to examine the existing site conditions.
Bidders are notified that they must comply with the New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act (Chapter 150 of the Laws of 1963, as amended) and that award will not be made to any bidder whom the Commissioner of Labor and Industry does not certify.
Bids shall be submitted on the forms provided, in the manner designated therein and required by the Specifications. They must be enclosed in sealed envelopes, bearing the name and address of the bidder and the name of the project on the outside, addressed to the Township Clerk, Township of West Orange, Essex County, New Jersey, and must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond in the form provided of not less than 10% of the amount of bid. Said check or bid bond may not be less than $500 nor shall it be more than $20,000 and must be accompanied by a Consent of Surety statement in the form provided from a Surety Company stating that the Surety Company will provide the bidder with a bond for 100% of the Contract amount in the event that the Contract is awarded to the bidder. A Non-Collusion Affidavit and a Record of Recent Contract Awards must also accompany the proposal on the forms provided
PROPOSAL FORMS SHALL NOT BE REMOVED FROM THE FORM OF PROPOSAL. PROPOSALS
MUST BE MADE UPON THE BLANK FORMS PROVIDED AND SUBMITTED IN THE BOUND BOOK, WHICH SHALL BE LEFT WHOLE AND INTACT IN EVERY RESPECT.
Bidders must have at the time of bid, a Business Registration Certificate issued by the New Jersey
Department of Treasury.
Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of NJSA 10:5-31 et seq. and NJAC 17:27 for an affirmative action program for equal employment opportunity.
If awarded a contract, your company/firm will be required to comply with the requirements of NJSA 10:5-
31 et seq. and NJAC 17:27.
Bidders must also comply with the requirements of PL 1977, Chapter 33 amending the Local Public Contracts Law. Bidders must submit a statement setting forth the names and addresses of all the stockholders in the corporation or members of the partnership who own ten percent (10%) or more of its stock, or have a ten percent (10%) or greater interest in the case of partnership.
No bid may be withdrawn for sixty (60) days after the opening of bids. A Contract will be awarded to the
lowest responsible bidder or all proposals will be rejected within sixty (60) days after the opening of bids.
The Mayor and Township Council of the Township of West Orange reserves the right to reject all bids, to reject unbalanced bids, and to waive any informality in any bid.
The right is hereby reserved to reject any and all bids or any part thereof or to waive any minor informalities or irregularities, to reject unbalanced bids, and to accept any bid or bids if deemed in the best interest of the Township of West Orange to do so
