Addenda: 1
Release Date: 11/4/2025
Due Date: 12/16/2025
The City of Lakeland (“OWNER”) seeks a licensed Fire Protection System contractor (“CONTRACTOR”), certified per Florida Statute 633, to provide comprehensive year-round inspection, preventive maintenance, corrective service, and 24/7 emergency response for fire protection systems at the McIntosh, Larsen, and Winston Power Generation Facilities.
CONTRACTOR shall furnish all labor, supervision, materials, tools, test instruments, lifts/rigging, travel, and administration necessary to keep systems fully operational and in compliance with applicable codes and standards at all times.
THIS RFP SHALL RESULT IN A ONE (1) YEAR CONTRACT WITH AN OPTION FOR FOUR (4), ONE (1) YEAR RENEWALS UPON MUTUAL CONSENT
The City of Lakeland owns and operates multiple power generation facilities that require reliable, code-compliant fire protection systems to ensure life safety, protect critical infrastructure, and maintain uninterrupted utility operations. These facilities include McIntosh Power Plant, Larsen Station, and Winston Peaking Station.
Each site contains a variety of suppression and detection systems, including sprinklers, hydrants/standpipes, engineered suppression systems, fire pumps, foam systems, water mist systems, and fire alarm networks, that must remain in continuous compliance with NFPA standards, Florida Statutes, and local fire codes.
Due to the essential nature of electric power generation, system reliability is critical. Fire protection equipment must undergo regular inspection, testing, and preventive maintenance, with prompt corrective service and emergency response available 24/7/365. The City seeks a qualified contractor to provide these services, ensuring that systems operate as designed and meet all regulatory requirements while minimizing risk to personnel, assets, and operations
