The City of Tehachapi Public Works Department is requesting proposals from qualified contractors to provide Fire Life Safety System Inspection, Testing, Documentation, and Reporting Services for multiple City facilities under a three-year agreement.

Please find the Request for Proposals (RFP) attached for your review and consideration.

Please note that Year One of the agreement includes a required baseline five-year internal fire sprinkler inspection at all facilities to establish a uniform inspection cycle. Proposers should carefully review the scope requirements and include all applicable services in their pricing.

Proposals are due no later than March 26, 2026. Optional facility walk-throughs may be scheduled through the Public Works Department during normal business hours.

Qualifications:
Contractor Qualifications
Proposers must hold appropriate California licensing, DIR registration, minimum five (5) years experience, and ability to provide State Fire Marshal compliant tagging. Alternative compliance may be proposed with justification.
Special Requirements:
Insurance Requirements
All required insurance shall be primary and non-contributory to any insurance or self-insurance maintained by the City.
Minimum insurance:
Commercial General Liability $1M/$2M
Automobile Liability $1M CSL
Workers’ Compensation statutory + $1M Employer’s Liability
Professional Liability $1M if applicable
The contractor shall name the City of Tehachapi, its councilmembers, officers, employees, agents, and volunteers as Additional Insureds on all required liability policies.
