Description:	The City of Crystal Lake is seeking bids from Contractors to provide Fire Hydrant Sandblasting & Painting to an approximate total of 1200-1500 fire hydrants over the next three (3) years. GENERAL OBJECTIVE The object of these specifications is to provide the material and workmanship necessary to produce a quality coating system. All painting work shall be implemented in strict accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and shall be performed in a manner satisfactory to the City of Crystal Lake. This project is to be completed in three (3) service periods: Base Year 1 (2026) approximately 450 Fire Hydrants Optional Year 2 (2027) approximately 450 Fire Hydrants Optional Year 3 (2028) approximately 450 Fire Hydrants The quantities identified herein are estimated quantities. The City of Crystal Lake reserves the right to increase and/or decrease quantities. The agreement shall cover the City’s requirements whether more or less than the estimated amount. Contractor must be able to complete the entire sum of hydrants within the contract year. Failure may result in non-extension or termination of future agreement years. City staff will identify specific areas for hydrant painting prior to the start of work. In general, the work will begin in the southernmost section of the city and progress northward. City staff will provide detailed maps or instructions to the contractor to ensure proper sequencing and coverage of designated areas.
