INTENT

It is the intent of the City of Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety (KDPS) to enter into a contract to provide its current employees and new hires additional and/or replacement fire fighting helmets, boots, hoods and gloves on an as-required basis.

It is the intent of these specifications to secure fire fighting helmets, boots, hoods and gloves meeting or exceeding the following minimum specifications. It is not the intent of these minimum specifications, in any way, to preclude reputable bidders from bidding, nor to inhibit free and open competition.

CONTRACT PERIOD

The contract resulting from this Invitation for Bid shall be in effect for a basic three (3)-year period beginning on April 1, 2025 (or the date of approval by the City) and continuing thereafter; and may be renewed for two (2) one (1)-year periods upon the execution of an extension agreement setting forth said intent of renewal and signed by both parties to this agreement. Said renewals shall be subject to the availability of funds and need.
