Onward Homes Society
Onward Homes is seeking proposals from qualified General Contractors for the replacement and retrofit of perimeter fencing and gates at George C. King Tower, 807 6 St SE, Calgary, AB, as outlined in Section 3 – Scope of Work of the RFP. The work includes demolition of existing fencing, installation of new 7’ high security fencing and gates (including electronic access-controlled gates), concrete footings, landscaping restoration, and compliance with the 2019 Alberta Building Code and City of Calgary standards.

A mandatory site visit will be held on September 23, 2025 at 9:00 AM (see Section 2 – Instructions to Bidders). Proposals must be submitted electronically by October 7, 2025 at 2:00 PM to tender@onwardhomes.ca.

Required bid documents include: completed Bid Form (Section 6), pricing with cash allowances (Section 5), insurance, WCB clearance, and COR certification or OH&S safety plan. Proposals that do not comply with submission requirements will be deemed non-compliant.

The scope of work includes:

Retrofit of existing 6’ security fences and gates to 7’ height with angled extensions.
Removal and replacement of existing fencing and concrete footings.
Installation of new 7’ high security fencing and gates, including rolling and electronic access-controlled gates.
Associated excavation, concrete footings, landscaping restoration, and handrail installation.
Compliance with the 2019 Alberta Building Code and City of Calgary Municipal Works Construction Standards.
Contractor to obtain and pay for all required permits.
