Project Description: The Centre County Recycling and Refuse Authority (CCRRA) is accepting Bids electronically via the PennBid Program until 1:00 PM prevailing time, Friday, May 22, 2026 for the purchase of ten (10) carbon steel wire roll-off containers. CCRRA has an exact prototype example of the roll-off container they wish to have fabricated at the CCRRA Transfer Station/Administrative offices location at 253 Transfer Road, Bellefonte, PA. All bidders must make an appointment to examine the prototype to be eligible to submit a bid. To make an appointment to examine the prototype, please contact Regan Hosterman, Operations Manager, or Nick Peters, Assistant Operations Manager, at 814-238-7005, between the hours of 8 AM and 2 PM, Monday through Thursday. Pictures of the prototype example are provided below.
After bid opening, a public notice will be issued via PennBid containing any available bid results. It should be noted that bid results are subject to further review and should not be construed as issuance of an award.
Bids are valid for a period of sixty (60) days from opening. CCRRA reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and to waive any minor informality.
General Specifications of Wire Roll-Off Containers – provided only to give perspective bidders a general description of the containers. The exact dimensions, steel grades and thicknesses, and features are to match the prototype made available for inspection at the CCRRA Transfer Station.
Approximate dimensions: 7’9” x 14’ x 6’3” tall.
All carbon steel materials shall be produced in the United States in compliance with Buy American requirements, including melting and manufacturing processes. The successful bidder shall provide certification of domestic origin for all steel materials used in the containers.
Steel shall be painted with a red enamel primer.
Assume all carbon steel is A36.
Each container shall be furnished with two (2) casters. See the attached cut sheet for the specific make and model. No substitutes shall be permitted.
The steel plate floor shall be provided with stiffeners above the castors as shown on the prototype.
The containers shall be hinged at one end.
A forklift/hook truck connection shall be provided at one end.
