The Statement of Requirement outlined the need for three (3) Internal Airlift/Helicopter Singable Container Units (ISU)-90 shipping containers to support the Accessories Flight of the 1st Maintenance Squadron. These new ISU-90s are critical replacements for the end user's current fleet, which has degraded to the point of being non-airworthy and requires immediate replacement. The current ISUs are essential for transporting mission-critical equipment, particularly in conjunction with the HFBE1 Unit Type Code (UTC) and are used during Temporary Duty (TDY) deployments to support three separate Fighter Generation Squadrons (FGS), often operating in different locations simultaneously.
