a. REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP):

b. PUPORSE:
DPR Construction (“General Contractor”) is soliciting proposals from qualified Subcontrac-tors (“Subcontractor”) for the Potrero Power Station Block 2: Bid Package 3 MEPF, Elevator & Waterproofing.
c. BACKGROUND:
The project includes an 8-story building over 3-story basement. The project incorporates 4 components:
1) Proton therapy center (occupying most of the Basement)
2) 8 story Core and warm shell building
3) Tenant improvement for UCSF clinical floors (2-5)
4) Future life-science incubator floor TI on top 3 floors and symposium space on level 1
The project is generally bound by Craig Lane to the north, the Maryland Street to the east, and Louisiana Street to the west. This proposal would be for the MEPF, Elevator and Water-proofing trades.
d. PROJECT SPECIFIC INFORMATION
• The Project is subject to a Workforce Agreement, which is attached to the Project’s Development Agreement with the City. Subcontractor shall follow the applicable requirements of the Workforce Agreement, including using good faith efforts to meet the Project’s LBE participation goal of 17% of contract value.
• The Project desires to engage contracting teams that reflect the diversity of our City and include participation of both businesses and residents from the City’s most disadvantaged communities including, but not limited to, the neighborhoods in the 94107, 94124, and 94134 zip codes.
e. SCOPE OF WORK
The project scope of work includes, but is not limited to following:
• Furnishing all labor, equipment and materials, and perform all operations in connection with the construction of your trade. Provide design and engineering services as required by the Bid documents for your trade.
The work will be divided into 6 Bid Packages:
1. Mechanical;
2. Electrical and Fire Alarm;
3. Plumbing;
4. Fire Protection;
5. Elevator;
6. Waterproofing.
The bidders may bid on one, two, or multiple bid packages.
f. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
In order to be considered for this procurement opportunity, a Subcontractor shall:
• Each Bidder shall at a minimum be in possession of a State of California Class A or Class B Contractor License.
• The subcontractors’ licenses and certifications shall be active as of the Proposal Due Date and remain active and in good standing throughout the term of the Contract.
• The subcontractors shall have active and valid insurance coverage at Owner’s prescribed coverage limits throughout the term of the Contract as defined in the Contract Agreement.
• The subcontractor will be required to comply with the project erosion control plan, con-tractor’s safety/environmental management plan, VDC coordination requirements, Union Agreements, and attend weekly progress meetings.
• Demonstrated Experience in similar scope of work. In response to this section, the objective should be to instill confidence that the Bidder thoroughly understands the requirements and complexities of this project, has the knowledge, expertise, and experience re-quired to produce a top-quality product, and the ability to accomplish the task within the required time frame.
