Exploratory Water Well Drilling

Advancement of one (1) “exploratory” water well including yield and water quality testing to inform the suitability of groundwater quantity and quality at John Boyd Thacher State Park. The well will be drilled to an assumed depth of up to 300 feet below the existing ground surface. The well is proposed east of the existing water storage reservoir building, as shown on the Attachment #1. An alternate location is included if the primary location is inaccessible. Nil to minimal clearing is anticipated to access the well location. Access to the site is provided by a gravel-surfaced maintenance road located off Suto Road to the west. The well location will be staked in the field by Parks prior to mobilization of the drill crew. Various bedrock outcroppings were noted at grade within the general vicinity of the proposed well and bedrock at the project area is mapped as the Onondaga Limestone on available geologic mapping.

Driller should be a National Ground Water Association (NGWA) Certified Well Driller (CWD) and registered through NYS DEC Environmental Conservation Law 15-1525; Contractor Program Registration.
