Executive Search Firms

The State University of New York (SUNY) wishes to procure a pool of highly effective executive search and recruitment services for State-operated campuses. Current guidelines for State-operated president searches state that: “The Chancellor (or the Chancellor’s representative) shall provide a list of nationally recognized organizations (e.g., search firms) with established expertise in academic recruitment and screening, as well as a commitment to developing diverse candidate pools, from which the council shall select one to assist in their search. The campus may elect to use a search firm not on this list with approval from the Chancellor (or the Chancellor’s representative).”

SUNY intends to award multiple contracts for the provision of these services. Contracts awarded from this RFP will pre-qualify the awardees as eligible to individually contract with SUNY campuses, including SUNY System Administration. Contract award, however, will not guarantee that an awardee will receive all or any portion of the executive search and recruitment services that may be solicited by SUNY.

SUNY will be taking a sector approach to the awarding of contracts for this procurement that includes SUNY System Administration, University Centers and Health Centers, Comprehensive Institutions and other Doctoral Granting Institutions, and Technical Institutions. Community Colleges may purchase from any sector list in this contract should they choose to do so. Bidders must submit separate proposals for each sector for which they are interested in being considered for award.
