Evaluation and Preliminary Design Engineering Services

The City of Oconomowoc is requesting engineering proposals for evaluation and preliminary design engineering services related to proposed updates to the Wastewater Treatment Facility.  The City of Oconomowoc owns and operates a Wastewater Treatment Facility located at 900 S. Worthington Street.  Most project components have been identified for replacement due to age and normal deterioration.  Additional items have been included for planning purposes, to achieve greater process efficiency and/or increased operational flexibility. The City seeks a consultant to provide planning, process and equipment evaluations, including assessment of alternative technologies and associated costs.   Work shall include development of 10% preliminary drawings for the selected technology or processes along with a written report.

Proposals will be accepted at the Wastewater Treatment Facility located at 900 S. Worthington Street, Oconomowoc, WI 53066, until 1:00 pm local time on Friday, June 19, 2026. All interested consultants must schedule a site visit to the Wastewater Treatment Facility prior to the submittal date to ensure a full understanding of the project scope, site conditions, and potential restrictions.  Those not able to schedule a site visit will be ineligible for the project. Proposals shall be marked “Wastewater Facility, Evaluation and Preliminary Design - 2026”.  Firms may obtain copies of the Request for Proposal at the above place weekdays from 7:00 am to 2:30 pm, on normal working days, or by sending an email request to For security reasons, you must enable JavaScript to view this E-mail address. .  Drawings from the original facility construction (1975), a Facility Upgrade project (2011-2012), a Sanitary Sewer Hydraulic Capacity Study (2020), a Digester System Improvement (2023-2024) and the Facility Planning Report (Dec. 2025) will be available upon request. The City of Oconomowoc reserves the right to select any firm’s proposal that it deems the most advantageous and serves in the best interest of the City.  The firm selected for the evaluation and preliminary design portion will be allowed to bid on the Engineering Services contract as part of a future RFP process.
