at which time they will be publicly opened and read in the Office of Procurement. The City of Springfield is seeking bids from qualified contractors to enter into an agreement to provide services installing ethernet cabling and mounting of external wireless access points at 49 school building locations. Estimated cost of the project is $200,000.00. Bidding procedures are per Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 149 as amended and other applicable statutes. Chapter 149 requires that the Prime/General Contractor be certified by the State Division of Capital Asset Management. Bid documents can be requested through the City’s website; www.springfield-ma.gov (during normal business hours) beginning on April 23, 2025.

It is strongly encouraged to attend a site visit on 4/29/25 at 9:00 A.M. starting at Forest Park Middle School (46 Oakland Street, Springfield, MA 01108) and progressing to two additional sites. All questions regarding the IFB or its specifications must be received in writing by the Office of Procurement on or before 5/1/25 by 4:30 P.M. (nwalker@springfieldcityhall.com) in order to be considered. The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women (MWBE) participation in all contracts. Massachusetts Division of Occupational Safety and Davis-Bacon Prevailing Wage rates apply. The Chief Procurement Officer/Designee reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
