Estevan Multi Unit Boiler Chemical Cleans
Synopsis:

Scope of Work:

SaskPower has determined that boiler cleaning is required to remove magnetite deposits from the waterwalls of the BD3 167 MW unit and BD5 150 MW unit at the Boundary Dam Power Station, SK (the Site), as well as the SHPS 300 MW unit at the Shand Power Station, SK (the Site). This work is scheduled to coincide with the BD3 unit overhaul in May 2027, the SHPS unit overhaul in April 2027, and the BD5 unit overhaul in August 2027.

The chemical cleaning will include the economizer and the waterwall tubes only. The cleaning solution will consist of inhibited tetra ammonium ethylene diamine tetra acetic acid (NH4)4(EDTA). Following the chemical cleaning, it shall be passivated via the reforming of a thin layer of magnetite. The Contractor will provide all labour, chemicals, materials, equipment, safety and emergency supplies, etc. as required to perform the Work.

NOTE: In the event of any discrepancy, inconsistency, or conflict between this description and the RFP documents, the RFP documents shall prevail.
