♦ This project provides emergency erosion control mitigation measures to protect and repair damaged streets and right-of-way from further storm damage, as needed. These conditions of damaged streets during rain events are a threat to public safety. The implementation of erosion control measures will assist in safe passage to pedestrians and use of roadway, as well as to reduce further deterioration of the damage. The work will consist of the removal of old and deteriorated sandbags, placement of new sandbags, removal of old and damaged asphalt concrete (AC) paving and AC berm or concrete curb and gutter, installation of new AC paving, AC berm, and concrete curb and gutter, construction of a pipe and board structure and a metal beam guard rail, removal and haul away of soil, rock, weathered bedrock, and construction debris, and backfilling excavations with imported soil and compacting.
♦ All contract work must be completed within 42 calendar days from the NTP. After the contract work is completed, the project/contract will remain open through the summer to address potential additional damages that arise during the rainy season, and beyond.
