Equalization (EQ) Tank Cleaning

NOTICE TO BIDDERS

The Village of Owego, Tioga County, New York, invites sealed bids for removal of approximately 36,000 gallons of grit, grease, debris and rags from the equalization tank (EQ tank).

The EQ tank has a three-foot manway on the side and a two-foot hatch on the roof as access points.

There are Internal structures to consider (engineer drawings are available upon request). We would like to separate septage to return to the system. All other debris and grit would be hauled away or dewatered for WWTP to dispose of after there is clean, safe access for wastewater treatment personnel to perform maintenance and repair.

The length of time to complete the job needs to be kept to seven (7) days or less with five (5) days being the optimal time to complete the job.

Contractor bids shall be enclosed in a sealed, post-paid envelope marked “Village of Owego”. Bids submitted via mail shall be addressed to the Village of Owego, 22 Elm Street, Owego, NY 13827. Bids submitted in person shall be received at the Village of Owego Village Clerk’s Office located at 22 Main Street, Owego, NY 13827. All bids shall be received until 2:00 p.m., May 30, 2025 at which time the bids will be opened and read aloud.

All bids must be accompanied by a security deposit in the amount of FIVE PERCENT (5%) of the amount of the base bid in the form and subject to the conditions provided in the Contract Documents.

Any bidder may withdraw their bid at any time before the time set for the opening of the bids. No bidder may withdraw their bid within sixty (60) days after the date of opening, but may withdraw it any time prior to the scheduled closing time for reception of bids.
