Description

Deschutes County Department of Solid Waste is soliciting proposals for Environmental Education Services in Deschutes County that meet the requirements as set forth in the State of Oregon’s Opportunity to Recycle guidelines. The Contractor shall provide education program in schools that provide waste prevention and reuse education programs in elementary and secondary schools. Education should increase knowledge about actions that support prevention and reuse and identifies at least one specific waste generation behavior or practice targeted to change and barriers to change that behavior. A waste prevention education program is a coordinated set of outreach, training, and behavior-change activities designed to help students avoid generating waste in the first place. W aste prevention education emphasizes source reduction, reuse, repair, and purchasing choices that reduce material consumption.
