LEGAL NOTICE: The City of Danbury, is seeking to engage the services of a Consulting Engineering firm to provide construction inspection services for the following transportation project:
State Project No. 034-0359
Route 53 (Main Street) and Osborne Street Traffic Signal Coordination
The project is funded by the CMAQ Program administered by the Connecticut Department of Transportation, Federal Aid Project No. 1034(121). The improvements will include modification of traffic signal controller foundations at 3 locations, replacement of Traffic signal controllers at 12 locations and installation of video detection equipment at 12 locations.
The consulting Engineering firm selected will be required to perform construction inspection. The projected construction cost is expected to be in the range of $1,250,000. Firms responding to this request should be of adequate size and sufficiently staffed to perform the assignment described above.
The Consulting Engineering firm will be evaluated and selected based on their experience in construction inspection services, the capacity and capability to perform the work within the time allotted, past record of performance, and knowledge of Federal, State, and Municipal procedures, appropriately weighted in descending order of importance. The inspection services fee will be negotiated based on the estimated quantities of personnel time and expenses.
The Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) sub consultant goal is 0% of the agreement value. The selected firm must meet all Municipal, State and Federal affirmative action and equal employment opportunity practices.
A letter of interest, together with general information on the firm and proposed sub consultants, the firm's brochure, current complete Federal Form SF330, experience of the firm, and resumes of key personnel shall be addressed to:

Additionally, all interested firms must submit a detailed statement including the organizational structure under which the firm proposes to conduct business. Personnel in responsible charge of the projects will be required to possess previous experience of providing construction inspection services for federal funded projects. Personnel in responsible charge of the projects will be required to possess and maintain a valid Connecticut Professional Engineer’s License.
Sealed qualifications (Four hard copies and 1 USB with PDF file) must be delivered to Danbury City Hall at the address above no later than 2:00 pm on November 24, 2025. Envelopes should be marked Bid #10-25-26-04 “Quals. – Engineering Services for State Project No. 034-0359 Route 53 (Main Street) and Osborne Street Traffic Signal Coordination”. Responses received after this date will not be considered.
