| Description: | The Town of Burnsville is seeking statements of qualifications from firms capable of providing engineering, planning, and construction management services for the purposes of evaluating damages, cost estimating, designing, permitting, bidding, and administering construction of a project that would replace the Town’s, 1925 gravity fed, redundant raw water intake system located above the headwaters of Bolens Creek in Yancey County, North Carolina. Including reconstruction of both (left and right) Bolens’ Creek surface water intakes and an undetermined amount of damages to the piping transmission system of approximately 20,000 linear feet (in total) of 6 inch cast iron pipe that was damaged/destroyed by tropical storm Helene (NC 4827 DR) on September 27, 2024. The project includes: Evaluation of damages, development of a scope of work, estimate of costs and design for construction of a new intake systems and replacement of destroyed raw water pipe. |
