Enchanted Way (711) Bulkhead

In Pacific Palisades approximately 3/4th mi NE of PCH & Sunset Blvd , there is a steel beam & timber lagging bulkhead (with tie back anchors) along the SW side of Enchanted Way. The bulkhead is old, distressed, & has failed locally. Recently, the Palisades Fire further damaged the bulkhead so it no longer adequately supports the roadway.

♦ Remove the old & damaged bulkhead
♦ Construct a new 94-ft bulkhead retaining structure along the SW side of the road of cast-in-drilled-hole (CIDH) piles with steel wide flange beams & pre-cast concrete lagging.
♦♦ A monolithic concrete curb, gutter, and grade beam is planned at the top of the bulkhead, with a metal beam guardrail on top.
♦ Also:
♦♦ Remove / repair damaged AC pavement along the SW side of the road
♦♦ Install 2-in dia drain pipe for water pumped from nearby dewatering wells.
