Description
During the winter the contractor will be required to respond to snowfall events as per the response times defined in Schedule C of the contract. Winging back of snowbanks will also be required throughout the winter season. If required the contractor must provide traction control in the form of ice blading and/or sanding and is expected to have the capability to complete all listed works (Ploughing, Ice blading and Sanding).
Other miscellaneous duties may involve culvert maintenance, dealing with problem beavers; minor road or bridge repairs; and right-of-way maintenance, such as bucking trees or cleaning ditches that may fall within the road prism, throughout the term of the contract.
The contractor will also be required to monitor the weather and road conditions to provide appropriate maintenance responses. This monitoring will include occasional directions from the ministry representative, field inspections by the contractor, and building positive working relationships with residents
